Tutorial : sew endings as you go

What I usually don't like  is sewing in the endings. Especially when you often change colors and have so many loose threads ...For my new big granny love blanket I figured out how to sew endings as you go, the method is a mix between tutorials I found in the internet combined with my own experience.
Hope you can understand my explanation, otherwise I'm happy if you write me a message if anything is not clear!

start with new color, 2 sc (count as one dc) (1. + 2.), the loose thread lay in crochet direction

and you hide it with next 2 dc, at the 3rd dc, stop when you have 2 loops on your needle (3.) and put the loose thread above the crochet thread,

now make a sc ( make sure the loose thread lays above the crocheting thread as on pic 5 and 6)

repeat pic 3-6 for 2 or 3 times.Now you can just bind the thread off.

carmen stitch granny cushion

Weeks ago I told you about a new pattern from talented Nicky Trench. Here you can see my variation of the pattern as a cushion. Today I gave it to a friend as a birthday present. I used the leavings of wovenstitch striped blanket (GGH Davos). I think I have to do something in this beautiful pattern also for myself....

black and white vs. camel

Thinking about the colours and technique for joining the squares for my big granny love blanket...

I would love to join in black, but there is no more black balls of Gedifra Akona available and I have only 6 left... same for cream! I have only enough balls of camel beige for joining all squares. Another option is to frame and join in black and cream alternate.  Tough decision, but I guess I'll go for camel and join all in same color which will make the blanket more quit and balanced.

Im Moment habe ich so einige angefangene Projekte.

Ich habe vor kurzem endlich das WOOL EATER PATTERN  (Sarah London ) ausprobiert und muss sagen: I am in love.... Was daraus wird weiß ich noch nicht..ein Kissen oder eine Decke... mal schauen!

Gestern habe ich dann noch ein neues Pattern ausprobiert. Es sind die Squares von der Carmen Blanket (Nicky Trench). Sie machen mir echt Spaß, ich freu mich immer besonders, wenn ich ein Muster endecke , wo ich genau weiß, dass ich es oft benutzen werde. Das ist hier definitiv mal wieder der Fall. Die Farben und das Garn habe ich nur zum Ausprobieren genommen, für ein Projekt finde ich sie grad nicht so gut.

 

 Mein Wovensticth striped cushion ist endlich fertig ( habe die beiden Kissenteile als Vor- und Rückseite zusammengehäkelt). Brauche noch ein neues Füllkissen, das nicht so zusammenfällt.

 Und ausserdem hab ich gestern noch ein kleines Babystrickjäckchen angefangen. ohne Anleitung. Lege es einfach auf passende Jäckchen und mache es etwas größer.

Ich habe mich entschieden aus den Circles einen Bezug für eine große Schaumstoffrolle zu machen. 

Insgesamt brauche ich 49 Grannys. 24 Stück sind schon aneinandergehäkelt, die restlichen Circles sind fertig müssen nur noch umrandet werden...

circle granny squares

Ich habe begonnen Circle Granny Squares aus meinen Baumwollgarnvorräten, hauptsächlich Lang Yarns Twin , zu häkeln. Ich denke mir gefällt die Farbkombi ziemlich gut.

PINK, BLUE, LIME, ORANGE, BLACK-WHITE, PURPLE and YELLOW. Als Umrandung nehme ich
 wahrscheinlich CAMEL, das gibt etwas mehr Ruhe und lässt die Squares nicht ganz so bunt wirken.

new granny square baby love blanket (II)

Am Wochenende hab ich foch tatsächlich noch "ein paar" fertige Grannys gefunden. Hat ein wenig gedauert sie anzuordne, aber dann konnte ich endlich beginnen sie zusammenzuhäkeln.  Die Qualität ist meine ehemalige Lieblingswolle (Shanina von Gedifra) . Ich bin mir noch nicht sicher, ob sie als Babydecke etwas zu fest gehäkelt ist. Aber zum Einpucken oder als Kuschelunterlage dürfte sie perfekt sein...

New Baby Granny Blanket

Auf der Suche nach einem neuen Projekt habe ich gestern abend ein paar übriggebliebene Grannys  (siehe Bild 1) wiedergefunden, die von einem alten Babydeckenprojekt stammen.
Da ich momentan nur Wolle verwenden möchte, die ich noch auf Lager habe entschied ich mich bei diesen Farben zu bleiben und nur noch ein leuchtendes Apfelgrün hinzuzufügen. Ich finde die Farbkombi einfach toll! Ich hatte einen guten Flow gestern und bin gut voran gekommen wie ihr seht;-)
Ich werde sie wohl noch auf 8x8 Grannys vergrößern, dann ist sie etwa 70x70cm groß. Ich finde eine gute Größe für eine Babydecke.
Ich denke, dass ich sie bei Dawanda in meinen Shop einstellen werde! Was denkt ihr?
